Liza Montgomery, Legislative Assistant

Liza joined CHCG in April 2025, and since she has supported the firm’s clients as a Legislative Assistant, focusing on healthcare and municipalities, among other policy areas. She plays a key role in monitoring federal policy developments, reporting on hearings, coordinating fly-in events, and providing timely updates on legislative and regulatory activity across Congress and federal agencies.
Previously, Liza interned for Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health. Before her time on Capitol Hill, she was a policy fellow at a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying firm, where she supported the team across diverse issue areas including tax, trade, healthcare, transportation, and sustainability.
Liza graduated from the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs in December of 2024, completing her Master of Public Affairs and gaining a substantial foundation to dive into federal policy in Washington. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas, where she graduated with honors, completed triple minors, and was consistently named to the Dean’s List. Liza is a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
